Family Services of Navarro County exist to bridge the local community out of poverty; provide clothes and household items for benevolence; offer financial assistance for prescription medications; lead the effort to unify our community.
To see Navarro County’s poverty rate reduced while continuing to provide services and material goods to those progressing out of poverty; To serve in a non-enabling role in assisting people needing financial assistance for medications; To continually work toward unification among all ethnic groups and cultures in Navarro County.
We bridge our local community out of poverty through offering financial training classes and partnering with education institutions to provide a path to increase household income; We provide clothes and household items to local community members through a voucher program by warehousing and maintaining an inventory that is sorted for easy selection; We provide financial assistance for prescription medication to applicants who have passed through our screening process; We lead the effort to unify our community among ethnic and cultural differences by organizing events centered around communicating, understanding and embracing one another.
We teach and exemplify servant-leadership, just as Jesus came to serve, not to be served. We have a culture of family, leaning toward grace with one another rather than correction. Every decision will be based on principles found in the Bible, rather than on our own wisdom. Every task will be done with excellence. We will carry the truth that the first person we lead is ourselves.
